• Rheda-Wiedenbrück A man (33) died on Friday morning on the premises of the meat giant Tönnies in Rheda-Wiedenbrück. The police assume a homicide.

The Bielefeld police set up a homicide squad, but initially gave no information on the facts.

According to Tönnies company spokesman André Vielstädte, a 20-year-old employee attacked a colleague (33) with a knife in the incident.

“Despite immediate first aid measures, the employee died in the hospital,” said Vielstädte.


The incident occurred in part of the dismantling. The alleged perpetrator and the victim are Romanian citizens.

The suspect was arrested. The “Bild” newspaper had previously reported.
