Müller and Söder are flirting with the Russian vaccine Sputnik V

Germany News, March 19: The federal and state governments want to clarify at the vaccination summit whether and when family doctors are allowed to vaccinate – and how much sense the sequence of vaccinations still makes. Bavaria and Berlin look hopefully to Moscow.

The number of people infected with corona has risen again, but vaccination is proceeding too slowly in Germany.

At their vaccination summit in the afternoon, the federal and state governments want to discuss how the vaccination campaign can be accelerated.

Bavaria’s Prime Minister Markus Söder (CSU) and Berlin’s Governing Mayor Michael Müller ( SPD ) are now campaigning for rapid approval of the Russian corona vaccine Sputnik V in front of the switch to the summit.

“We need every vaccine that we can get,” said Müller on Thursday after the country bosses had a video link.

They had spoken to EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen as a guest of the switchboard about the need to apply for proper approval for the vaccine, as for others, and to examine it.

“But of course, if we have the chance to use this vaccine, of course we want to and will seize this chance,” said Müller, who is the chairman of the conference of prime ministers.
