In Baghpat, Uttar Pradesh, farmers on Monday pulled out tractors on various roads in the district to protest against agricultural laws.
On the occasion of Republic Day, a large number of farmers from Ghazipur border left the district to participate in a tractor rally.
The farmers have left for Delhi via Eastern Peripheral Expressway, Delhi, Saharanpur Highway, Bar Out-Muzaffarnagar Road and Bantha Road.
It created an atmosphere of patriotism in the district throughout the day. The roads remained jammed throughout the day due to farmers’ tractors.
Farmers expressed happiness over the tractor rally convened in Delhi on Monday on the occasion of Republic Day.
The departure of tractors on the Delhi-Saharanpur highway started at around 11 am on Monday. The convoy of Muzaffarnagar farmers, led by BKI President Chaudhry Naresh Takit, passed through the Eastern Peripheral Expressway.
Disha Khap was headed by Chaudhry Surinder Singh of Disha Khap, Chaudhry Karshi Pal Rana of Chowgama Khap was headed by Chowhama, Chaudhry Subhash of Chaprauli area was headed by Chaudhry Subhash and Chaudhry Ranveer Singh of Choobsi.
Farmers of Baghpat district first gathered at the industrial police post in Barout and left for Delhi waving Mother India chairs and tricolors.
Due to farmers’ tractors, the jam was on the Eastern Peripheral Expressway, Delhi, Saharanpur Highway, Bar Out-Budhana Marg, and Bantha Road. Police were also deployed during this time.
