Kuwait City, July 7: While the agencies operating at Kuwait International Airport are preparing to start activating the Cabinet’s decision to allow entry to residents who have received two doses of approved vaccines in the country starting from August 1, an informed source revealed that the decision on the entry mechanism for residents to the country will be finalized within days. Reported by Al-Qabas.
The source said that airport authorities officials are awaiting an upcoming meeting with Ministry of Health officials to put points on the letters on many issues that need clarification on how to deal with some of the detailed procedures that were not included in the recent decisions.
The source added that among the issues raised is raising the operational capacity in the number of arrivals to the country to be 5,000 passengers instead of the current 3,500, with an increase in the number of flights and the easing of some travel restrictions.
On June 17, the Council of Ministers approved a number of decisions regarding travel abroad for citizens and entry of non-Kuwaitis into the country, provided that they receive two doses of the anti-Coronavirus vaccine approved in Kuwait and produced by Pfizer – AstraZeneca – Moderna companies, or one dose of the vaccine produced by the company. Johnson & Johnson, as of Sunday, August 1, 2021, provided that the first PCR test is performed 72 hours before arrival stating that it is free of infection with the Coronavirus and the other during the home quarantine period of seven days after arrival.
