Sports News, March 11: The English club “Liverpool” accomplished the task of qualifying for the quarter-finals of the Champions League, by defeating the German club, “Leipzig”, with a score (2-0), on Wednesday evening, in the second leg of the final round in the Hungarian capital, Budapest.
Liverpool scored the goals of Mohamed Salah in the 70th minute and Sadio Mane in the 74th minute, noting that the first-leg match that was held in Budapest also ended with the Reds winning the same score (2-0).
The England champion entered the match looking to put the domestic setback behind him, after falling in six successive matches at home in the league, which put him in eighth place.
The player Mohamed Salah wished to score more goals this season, although he admitted that wasting opportunities as part of the game, after leading his team, “Liverpool”, to repeat the victory over “Leipzig” with a clean double in the second leg of the Champions League final.
“An important result for us,” Salah said. We came here after losing several matches in the Premier League. The team is not at its best, but we wanted to fight in the Champions League and we want to do that in the league and see what happens.
