Bayern Munich, the German and European champions, announced today, Tuesday, that it has signed Julian Naglismann, coach of Racine Ball Sport Leipzig, to take over the leadership of the next season for a period of five years.
The Bavarian club said in a statement that “Bayern signed a contract with Julian Naglismann to be their new coach. The coach, who hails from Bavaria, will leave Leipzig to join Munich at the start of the next season on July 1, 2021, and his contract with the German champions will be for a period of five years until June 30, 2026.
Naglismann, 33, who led Leipzig to the semi-finals of the Champions League last year, will succeed Hans Flick, who will leave Bayern at the end of the current season with a personal desire despite his contract extending until 2023.

German media had confirmed earlier that Bayern Munich had begun negotiations to appoint the young Leipzig coach Julian Nagelsmann as head of the technical management of the Bavarian team, to succeed Hanzi Flick next season.
Germany’s most popular newspaper, Bild, who is well-informed in general in the country, said that Leipzig, Bayern Munich’s main competitor this year in the Bundesliga, is asking for 30 million euros to free Nagelsmann, 33, with whom he is contracted until 2023.
