IPL Auction 2021: Kings XI Punjab, not Punjab now known as Kings and Smith

Digital Desk (Bhopal). The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 season will be auctioned on February 18 in Chennai. At 9 a.m., 8 franchise officers arrived at the hotel. Officers’ rapid antigen and RT-PCR testing took place here, with their report coming in at 1 p.m. Any officers who do not complete the test will not be allowed to participate in the auction. This time, out of a total of 292 players in the auction, a maximum of 61 will be selected for the league. However, the franchisees have about Rs 195 crore.


According to reports, Kings XI Punjab will be renamed as ‘Punjab Kings’ from the 14th season of IPL. It also has the approval of the BCCI and the IPL governing body. The tournament starts in the second week of April.

According to reports, the franchise is looking to restart the team before the auction. Even at auction, the franchise is known as the Punjab Kings. Punjab Kings Under Performing Team Mohit Burman, Ness Wadia, Preity Zinta and Karan Paul. The team has been ranked once and third in the last 13 years.

KL Rahul will also captain and coach Kumble’s team this season. The team released all-rounder Glenn Maxwell. There is more than Rs 50 crore in Punjab to bet on players.


All teams keep an eye on Smith …

This time, all the teams in the auction are keeping an eye on Australia’s attractive batsman Steven Smith. Smith plays for the Rajasthan Royals, but his franchise has released him this season. Along with Smith, Marnus Labuschen from Australia, Glenn Maxwell, David Malan from England, Chris Morris and Shakib Al Hasan from Bangladesh will all be in the spotlight. The Punjab Kings, Kolkata Knight Riders and Chennai Super Kings may be interested in joining Smith. Smith’s base price is Rs two crore.


Maxwell, who played for Punjab in the previous season, has been released by his franchise and Punjab may rejoin him for less money. Maxwell’s base price is Rs two crore.
