The Chairman of the Renewable Energy Committee of the Kuwait Society of Engineers and Vice-President of the Arab Council for Sustainable Development and Environment, Dr. Bader Al-Taweel, valued the participation of the Kuwaiti Society of Engineers, in organizing the work of the “Eleventh International Conference of the Arab Union for Sustainable Development and the Environment”, under the title: “Integration of scientific institutions in building and developing Societies in the Arab Countries”, which was held by the Federation under the auspices of the Arab League, in cooperation with the Kuwait Society of Engineers and the Al Maktoum Charitable Organization in the Emirates, at the headquarters of the University and the Arab Scout Center in Cairo.

He told Al-Rai: “An agreement was signed between the Society of Engineers and the Arab Union for Sustainable Development and the Environment, and the President of the Society announced the opening of a regional office for the Federation at the Society of Engineers headquarters in Kuwait. In the sessions, we reviewed many research papers dealing with the role of scientific institutions in engineering and medicine. The next conference will be in Kuwait and will focus on the environment.”

A member of the Board of Directors of the Kuwait Society of Engineers, Engineer Alaa Al-Bassem Al-Husseini, told Al-Rai: “We participate as a team from Kuwait, and I am a member of the organizing committee in the conference, and we support any development work related to the environment in Kuwait or any Arab country, and I hope that the recommendations will be implemented.” On the ground, there will be serious work for our Arab nation, and the development we see in Egypt and Saudi Arabia makes us hope for the permanent progress of our Arab nation.”

Dr. Shurooq Al-Jasser, a member of the Board of Directors of the Kuwait Society of Engineers, indicated that “we, as Kuwaiti engineers, were pleased to participate in the eleventh international scientific conference of the Arab Union for Sustainable Development and the Environment, which was held under the auspices of the League of Arab States, and in cooperation with our society and a number of other parties, under the slogan (Integration of Scientific Institutions). in building and developing societies in the Arab countries), and we thank the colleagues in the Union for their good cooperation, reception, organization and allowing engineers in Kuwait to participate in this important scientific event.

She added: “I was pleased to represent the association’s president, Eng. Faisal Al-Atl, in managing the first session for the second day of the conference, in which specialized scientific and technical figures are included. Further activating the role of Arab scientific institutions in building our societies through scientific research, and with science, nations rise and find a special place for themselves in this world that witnesses great competition in various fields.

The conference participants and members of the Scientific Committee recommended “the necessity of developing the scientific research system and unifying the research of Arab universities, emphasizing the role and institutions of scientific research in the Arab world, their integration and linking them with each other, and doing what requires the inclusion of Arab universities in the development process, by encouraging their leading role within the policies of Encouraging regional innovation, and establishing an Arab bank for scientific research at the headquarters of the League of Arab States, in which the most important research and scientific information will be deposited.

The conference urged to increase spending on scientific research and encourage the private sector to contribute to financing projects, and the importance of adopting scientific research in the development process in the Arab countries to enable them to find solutions to the challenges facing Arab societies, and directed the attendees to set an Arab day for scientific research, invention and innovation in which the world would be honored. And the researcher with the aim of introducing people to their scholars, researchers and creators.

The participants unanimously agreed to take into account the integration of pre-university and university technical education curricula to consolidate the values ​​of responsibility and manual work, develop students’ craft skills for children in different educational stages, take care of innovative, creative and inventor students and sponsor them financially and morally and apply their inventions in various fields, and universities’ commitment to teaching a leadership course Business includes sustainable development, societal issues and religious tolerance in the light of equality, justice, accountability, and activating the role of business incubators.

They agreed on the necessity of concluding cooperation protocols with ministries of investment and national banks as a supporter of small projects and entrepreneurship, launching initiatives and competitions for entrepreneurship ideas and converting them to small projects that have a feasibility study and technical follow-up from university institutions aimed at marketing ideas and training young graduates to set up successful projects, and activate units To market scientific research within universities.
