The Public Corporation for Housing Welfare has implemented the uses of renewable energy sources in its various projects to rationalize energy consumption and contribute to reducing the electrical burden on the national grid, in order to achieve the New Kuwait Vision 2035. As 80 buildings with a production capacity of 7.514 MW have been completed in various locations in West Abdullah Al-Mubarak and East Taima and Jaber Al-Ahmad housing units, and most of them were handed over to the beneficiaries.

In this context, the Deputy Director General of the Corporation for Planning and Design Affairs, Engineer Nasser Khreibet, said that the Corporation has taken upon itself the application of renewable energy sources in its projects, with a production rate ranging between 15-20%, and that the necessary designs are being prepared for all future projects for future housing cities with estimated values ​​exceeding 200 MW. This is in implementation of the goals of the state’s development plan and the sustainable development goals of the United Nations.The Corporation is also currently designing a solar energy system for the buildings of Al-Mutlaa City for (96) buildings, with an estimated production capacity of 8.248 MW.

He praised the engineers of the planning, design and implementation sectors “for their great role in designing and implementing such projects with national youth cadres”, praising the role of the Minister of State for Municipal Affairs and Minister of State for Housing Affairs Shaya Al-Shaya and the Director General of the Foundation, Eng. The Corporation shall provide all means to develop the work environment and qualify the Corporation’s engineers to apply various fields of urban development.”
