No Ban and no Airport, ports closed in Kuwait

Kuwait News, Jan 6: Despite the big jump in the number of corona infections in the country from 1482 to 2246 in just 24 hours, which is the highest number since the beginning of the pandemic, responsible government sources reassured, through Al-Qabas, that the epidemiological situation in Kuwait is good, and that an increase in injuries is expected in light of the significant escalation of injuries. The pandemic is finally around the world.

The sources confirmed that the determining factor in the seriousness of the epidemic lies in the high deaths and clinical occupancy cases in intensive care, which are at the normal level in the country, explaining that the activity of the virus locally indicates the possibility of a continuing escalation of daily infection rates until the beginning of next February, after which it begins to gradually decline.

As the sources reassured that the symptoms observed for the infected cases so far are mild, and sometimes without symptoms, they confirmed that the trend towards implementing the ban or closing the airport and ports is excluded at the present time.


She explained that the jump in the number of injuries does not call for panic, as clinical occupancy in hospitals is still stable, stressing that if injuries and occupancy rates increase in care and hospitals, new government measures will be taken, most notably: “The return of distance in mosques, easing of shifts, and the return of distance study, with Tightening the application of extensively requirements in closed places.

She indicated that the government is currently on alert; To accelerate the granting of the third booster dose, and to vaccinate children between 5 and 11 years, it is expected to begin at the end of this month, as soon as the vaccines arrive.

The sources stressed that the government will take any action or recommendations submitted to it by the Corona Emergency Committee in order to control the outbreak of the epidemic in the country.

She indicated that the government inspection teams will not hesitate to close any facility that violates laws and apply health requirements, as well as holding rumor mongers on social networks accountable.
