New Civil id cards coming soon without chip

Kuwait City, Oct 18: After a long wait and delay in issuing the civil card to a large segment of citizens and residents since last April, things seem to be heading towards a breakthrough soon, after the Public Authority for Civil Information put forward a practice regarding the purchase of plastic civil card forms “without a chip.”

It also introduced another practice regarding the maintenance and updating of its electronic system software, in order to preserve the data it contains from penetration or loss and to provide better and faster service to the auditors.

The authority is currently giving priority to the issuance of cards to citizens, and those under the age of 5 years, due to the directives of the Director-General, Musaed Al-Asousi, because they are not included in the “My Identity” application, and to facilitate their reviews of government agencies or travel with their families, as the card is issued within a few days from the date of submitting the application.
