Kuwait City, Oct 11: The official spokesman and director of the Public Relations and Media Department of the Public Authority for Manpower, Aseel Al-Mazyed, stated that the Department of Labor Relations of the Manpower Protection Sector had received a report from the Farwaniya Police Station stating that a labor strike had occurred for a company in the Farwaniya Governorate at 8:30 am on Sunday, corresponding to 10/10/2021, where about three hundred workers went on strike in protest of not receiving salaries for more than 3 months, in addition to paying sums of money to renew residency.

Al-Mazyed reported that representatives of the Labor Relations Department immediately moved to the strike headquarters, where a report was recorded of the aforementioned incident and its causes, after hearing the workers’ complaints. The authority’s procedures are currently being taken to remove the causes of complaints and take legal and administrative measures, in coordination with the concerned authorities.
