Malfunction in the submarine cable affected many countries

Kuwait City, Jan 22: The malfunction in the submarine cable had affected many countries, adding that the competent company had not been informed of the date of repairing the defect.

The source indicated that the location of the cut is outside the country, and information indicates that it is close to the Yemeni territorial waters.

The Communications and Information Technology Commission had announced that cutting an international submarine cable caused poor internet service in the country.


The authority stated that the international submarine cable, Falcon, of the GCX Company, was cut outside the Kuwaiti territorial waters, which led to a disruption in some international circuits working on the cable and used by companies and internet providers in the country.

The authority said that follow-up is underway with the international cable company, GCX, to find out what is being done to repair the parts and the time required to complete these procedures.
