Kuwait News, Jan 15: The ministry’s keenness to implement plans and strategies to combat the Corona virus, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health, Dr. Mustafa Reda, issued a decision regarding the duration of quarantine and isolation for people infected with the Corona virus, which came as follows:
1- The period of quarantine prescribed for close contacts (who do not have symptoms) of confirmed cases of infection with the Covid-19 virus is modified as follows:
- Non-immunized individuals: They are subject to a 14-day quarantine. [Read Also: Discussions on 60 age decision and regulating the labor market next week]
- Immunized individuals: They are subject to a 14-day quarantine, with the possibility of ending the quarantine if a negative PCR test result is obtained after a period of no less than 7 days has passed from the beginning of the quarantine, bearing in mind that if symptoms appear during the quarantine period, the individual is directed to work PCR assay.
2- The period of isolation prescribed for laboratory-confirmed positive cases shall be modified as follows:
- Non-immunized individuals: Cases are subject to quarantine for 10 days from the date of the positive PCR test result.
- Immunized individuals: Cases are subject to health isolation for 7 days from the date of the positive PCR test result, with the obligation to wear a mask after the end of the scheduled isolation period, bearing in mind that there are no symptoms when the scheduled isolation period ends.
