The Director-General of the Public Authority for Agriculture Affairs and Fish Resources Sheikh Muhammad Al-Yousef stressed the importance of training and qualification for national cadres in the Public Authority for Agriculture because of its essential and effective role in the agricultural development process, and that the training should include administrative and executive aspects as well as technical aspects, while receiving a delegation from Experts of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations “FAO” on the occasion of his visit to Kuwait.

The meeting, which was attended by the authority’s leaders, dealt with the preparations provided by the State of Kuwait for the success of the tasks of the experts who will make field visits inside Kuwait during the coming period, including plant and animal wealth farms, and review the work sites to find out the latest developments, as well as providing the necessary data and statistics for the joint programs between the authority and the “FAO” organization. » Concerning the development of the agricultural, livestock and fisheries sector in the State of Kuwait.

The meeting also dealt with issues related to food security, the proposed programs for its development, and ways to overcome obstacles and obstacles that prevent its realization.They also discussed and coordinated the memorandum of understanding regarding the permanent office of the organization in the State of Kuwait.

The delegation expressed its sincere appreciation to Kuwait for its full and effective support for the organisation’s programmes, plans and policies, which primarily aim at sustainable agricultural development in all countries, especially Arab ones.

The delegation of “FAO” includes the Assistant Director-General and Regional Representative for the Near East and North Africa, Dr. Abdul Hakim Al-Waer, the Coordinator of the Sub-Regional Office for the Gulf Cooperation Council States in the Gulf and Yemen, the Representative of the Organization in the United Arab Emirates Dino Francescotti, the Regional Adviser and Kayan Jaff and the Partnership Officer in the sub-regional office For the Gulf Cooperation Council, Ashraf Hamouda.
