2,840 traffic violations… in 3 hours

Colonel Al-Suwaiji told Al-Rai:
– The largest outcome for the seizure of dilapidated vehicles
– Seizing administratively violating cars and placing a “block” on them
– Vehicles that are insured for more than one year… It is not acceptable to be left unattended

The traffic campaign launched by the Technical Inspection Department of the General Traffic Department in the Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh, Kabd and Shuwaikh industrial areas, the day before yesterday, resulted in the issuance of 2,840 violations related to security and durability within 3 hours.

Al-Rai accompanied the campaign, which consisted of 8 security teams that included officers, soldiers and engineers, which was organized under direct instructions from the Traffic Sector Undersecretary, Major General Jamal Al-Sayegh, and came under the supervision and presence of the Director of the Technical Inspection Department, Colonel Mishaal Al-Suwaiji.

Colonel Al-Suwaiji confirmed to Al-Rai that the campaign resulted in the issuance of 2,840 violations for vehicles that lose security and durability conditions, as it witnessed the largest outcome of seizing dilapidated vehicles traveling on the roads, noting that all the violations that were issued were booked administratively and the owner will not be able to pay Violation and a “block” was placed on the car, so that the technical inspection department could review and inspect the vehicle through a specialized technical committee to re-submit a report on its loss of security and durability conditions.

He pointed out that the General Traffic Department, represented by the Technical Inspection Department, will be strict and firm towards vehicles traveling on the roads, and that the vehicle inspection at the General Traffic Department will not stop at this point, stressing the continuation of the pursuit of vehicles even after their success in the technical examination, especially since there are vehicles that are subject to inspection. It was secured for a period of more than a year, and it is unacceptable that it be left without field follow-up, and it will not be far from the eyes of the security men.

He added, “The security force, including officers, individuals, and a number of technical examiners, have seized many vehicles that must be banned from the roads due to their danger to the safety of their drivers and others.” It lacks the conditions and legal measures will be taken against it, and we will not tolerate such abuses.”

He revealed that many vehicles that do not have insurance or have expired driving licenses have been monitored for several years, and there are vehicles that emit annoying sounds and smoke, in addition to various other violations.
