Kuwait City, Aug 21: Today, Friday, the Ministry of Health announced the registration of two deaths and 226 new infections with the emerging coronavirus.
Indicators of evaluating the epidemiological situation continued to improve, with the percentage of infections to swabs continuing to decline, dropping for the first time to below 2% to reach 1.89 percent, amid the continued decline in the number of cases in wards and intensive care, and the continued rise in the recovery rate to reach 98.10 percent.
The spokesman for the Ministry of Health, Dr. Abdullah Al-Sanad, said that with the registration of 226 new infections with the emerging coronavirus in the past 24 hours, the total number of cases registered in the country increased to 407878.
Al-Sanad added to Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) that two deaths were recorded, bringing the total number of Deaths reached 2401, and 610 cases of recovery were recorded, bringing the total number of people recovered to 400,148, and the percentage of total recovery cases out of the total infections amounted to 98.10 percent.
He stated that the number of those receiving medical care in intensive care departments reached 173 cases, while the total number of cases that were confirmed to be infected and still receiving the necessary care reached 5329, and the total number of cases in (Covid 19) wards reached 340.
He stated that the number of swabs that were conducted during the period The same amount amounted to 11,934, bringing the total of tests to 3655,034, indicating that the percentage of infections for the number of these smears is 1.89 percent.
With regard to the percentage of infections in the governorates, Al-Sanad said that it reached 28% in Hawally, 22% in Al-Farwaniyah, 20% in Al-Ahmadi, 17% in Jahra, and finally in the capital, 13%.
