Kuwait’s domestic labor crisis is likely to intensify further during Ramadan


Kuwait City: Kuwait facing a crisis due to a lack of domestic workers. The recruitment of the new domestic worker has created difficulties after the new requirements imposed by the Philippines.

Because of the new recruitment of domestic workers, Kuwait will face a severe crisis during the upcoming Ramadan month.

A local Arabic media reports that Kuwait is facing new difficulties in hiring Philippine domestic workers as new requirements imposed by the Philippines and the domestic labor crisis are likely to intensify further during Ramadan.


The new rules set by the govt of the Philippines for Kuwaiti offices( Domestic Workers Recruitment Office) are to keep an estimated $ 10,000 insurance to guarantee the rights of domestic workers returning to Kuwait.

Khalid al-Dakhnan, head of the Federal Domestic Workers’ Recruitment Agency, told a news conference that Kuwaiti recruitment agencies had rejected the “Philippines”‘s new insurance requirement policy because it would cause more harm to citizens and offices.
