Kuwait City, Oct 7: Surprisingly, the government made a fatal mistake based on an incorrect decision to ban work permits for expatriates over the age of 60, the Fatwa and Legislation Department confirmed that this decision was based on an invalid decision and is therefore considered incorrect.

An informed source told Al-Qabas that after this discovery by the Fatwa and Legislation Department, the decision is considered invalid and must be rescinded.

The head of the Fatwa and Legislation Department, Counselor Salah Al-Masad, confirmed to Al-Qabas that the decision to ban work permits for expatriates over the age of 60 is not legally sound.

Al-Massad said that the response to a question from the Ministry of Commerce was that the ban decision was based on a “canceled” decision and therefore becomes invalid.
