4013 Expatriates left Kuwait due to the 60 age decision

Kuwait City, Oct 7: With the Fatwa and Legislation Department annulment of the decision to ban work permits for expatriates over 60 years of holding high school diplomas and below, statistics obtained by media reports showed that 4,013 expatriates in 60 years of age left the labor market within only six months of implementing the decision, which actually entered into force in early January 2021. Reported by Al-Qabas.

The Fatwa Department had confirmed that the decision to prevent the renewal of work permits for those who reached 60 years of age “was based on a canceled decision, and therefore the decision is considered illegal from a legal point of view.”
