Kuwait City, June 5: The Public Prosecutor issued a decision to imprison an official in the Ministry of Electricity for a period of 21 days and referred him to the central prison in the case of receiving a bribe in exchange for dropping the state’s rights in electricity bills. As reported by Al-Qabas.
The source said that the investigations were coordinated after being informed by another party of the crime of bribery and were able to apprehend the official in flagrante delicto, and he received the bribe amount estimated at 40,000 dinars, as it was immediately referred to the Public Prosecution.
The source indicated that the Public Prosecution Office, after interrogating the accused, refused to release him and decided to hold him in pretrial detention and refer him to trial soon.
