The sources stressed that the security services are constantly seeking to monitor all crimes of drugs, psychotropic substances and alcohol, in coordination with the concerned authorities, and conduct the necessary research and investigations and collect all information and evidence related to them, to detect these crimes and track and arrest the perpetrators.
650 people died of overdose in 9 years
650 people were killed by drug overdoses in the country during 9 years (from 2012 to 2020), representing 22 nationalities around the world.

The sources added that 2018 was the year that witness the most deaths due to drug overdoses, with 116 deaths, including 4 females, while 2016 was the least when it recorded only 33 deaths.
The sources revealed that the number of female deaths amounted to 15 out of 650 cases, noting that the age group from 36 to 40 years is the most recorded death toll from drugs, while the age group from 18 to 20 years, which is the category of university students, recorded 21 deaths.
