Pfizer begins clinical trials to produce a drug to treat Corona patients

Pfizer announced yesterday, Tuesday, that it has started the early stages of clinical trials in the United States in order to create an oral drug to treat patients infected with the (Emerging corona – Covid 19) virus.

The company stated in a statement that the candidate drug showed strong anti-virus activity (Covid 19), indicating that it follows a class of drugs known as “protease inhibitors” that have been used for a long time to treat HIV-positive patients that cause AIDS. ) And patients with hepatitis C virus (C).

The statement added that the candidate drug disrupts the work of the central enzyme of the virus that it needs to multiply, which is the protease enzyme.

It is noteworthy that (remdesivir) is the only drug currently used to treat some Corona patients in the United States, but there are three anti-virus vaccines that have obtained licenses for emergency use in the country so far, which are the vaccines produced by (Pfizer), (Moderna) and (Johnson & Johnson) Johnson).
