Kuwait News, April 1: About 50 firefighters, representing 5 teams of the General Fire Brigade, are dealing with a huge fire that broke out in a number of shops in the arms market in Mubarakiya a while ago.
A fire source told that the fire spread very quickly due to the nature of the site and the burning materials, pointing out that the fire has not resulted in deaths or injuries so far.
In addition, a firefighting source warned through Al-Qabas of the danger of collapses expected to occur on the firefighters and those at the site of the fire in the shops in the arms market in the Mubarakiya area due to the nature of the site.
The source said that the fire affected more than 20 shops, pointing out that the presence of flammable liquids and electrical transformers made the tasks of firefighters difficult, and contributed to the spread of fire very quickly, stressing that this type of material is dealt with using foam, not water.
He added that the firefighting teams that were fighting the fire rose to 8, after the public fire force reinforced the site of the fire with 3 other teams. [Read Also: MoI issues a decision promoting 1932 officers of various ranks]
